CNM History

Establishment (1980)

CNM was established in 1980 as part of the Ministry of Health to address malaria, which was a major public health concern.

Growth (1990-2000)

During the 1990s and 2000s, CNM expanded operations to all provinces and began managing other vector-borne diseases.

Key Milestones

  • 2001 - Launched Artemisinin-based Combination Therapy (ACT)
  • 2008 - Reduced malaria cases by 50%
  • 2015 - Established new surveillance systems
  • 2020 - Achieved 75% reduction in malaria cases since 2000
  • 2025 - Target for malaria elimination

International Partnerships

CNM collaborates with numerous international organizations including WHO, UNDP, and Global Fund.

Awards and Recognition

  • ASEAN Disease Control Award (2018)
  • Ministry of Health Excellence Award (2020)
